With the Oil Spill Crisis we are now facing,I have to question do we need to be praying that they get it fix or that God miraculously heal our waters or both?
If you can't believe God can then question your faith, unless perhaps you are an atheist. However the question for me is will God do so:
Then He began to denounce the cities in which MOST of His miracles were done, because they did not repent. Matthew 11:20
Scary, that these cities still didn't repent though they saw what Jesus did, perhaps even had their own personal miracles.
The bible says "IF my people (do you believe in Jesus, have you accepted Him as Lord and notice it is corporate not just individual), who are called by MY NAME, humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways I will heal their land (paraphrased).
Do believers have a part to play in this Oil Spill Crisis? Can we minimize or even change these events? Is there time or are we too late? Most people ask God to forgive them of their sins and then do ok for a minute, a day, or so and then return back to their ways as Israel of old. Is this Oil Spill a wake up call for us?
It's no longer playing "good person" or "play Christian" God is looking for a turning of sin, wicked ways, or whatever you want to label it. He is looking for us to position ourselves in heart, soul and mind that we know only He can intervene. Whether or not He gives those in charge the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of how to stop this or heal the waters as He did in Egypt I do not know but we need more than just using Grace for a reason to live a reckless life.
Our hearts cry may need to be "God you have my undivided attention". What is it going to take? What does God have to do or allow to wake us up?
But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market places, who call out to the other children, and say, "We played the flute for you, and you did not dance, we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn". Matt 11:16-17
We can point fingers all day long, and yes there are people responsible but is it resolving anything? So consider this are we looking for man to solve our crisis or God to show compassion and mercy once again? Are we seeking Him on the matter and will He give us the miracle we need?
